So I have been having a lot of trouble with my electric piano/midi/recording software lately. It is acting like a poorly raised child. I am not a happy camper.
It has made me entertain the idea of recording with an actual mic, an actual piano, and an actual me. You see, on my first CD, however it may sound, that's not me playing the piano. That's a computer playing back what I played for it. Not that I have anything against computers, but wouldn't it be nifty to take a step in the natural direction? Wouldn't you like to hear my foot lift off the pedal? Or some of that comforting 1940s white noise in the background? Or my crazy-catchy heel percussion??
I know what you're thinking. YES. You would love to hear all that. Me too. That's why I'm entertaining the thought.
After I entertained that thought for a couple minutes, I thought about recording an entire album using my iPhone as the mic! And then making trillions from Apple because they would be so impressed. And using the trillions to buy Google! And then using Google to blackmail the Chinese government into renaming China to Pajamaland!
But then I realized that that is ridiculous.
